I mentioned yesterday I saw a new brand in Superdrug called 'Beauty UK' and I purchased the blusher in N0.6 it is a very light totally matte pink blusher I am wearing it on the apples of my cheeks with a sweep of the ELF warm bronzer (which I reviewed earlier and still love as it makes me look less 'tangoed' than other bronzers!)

I really adore this colour it's my new favourite cheek combo! And the blusher cost £2.93!!!!!
So i woke up at 7am and had a day full of exams so my make up is veryveryvery natural, I dislike how I look with such a natural look I feel horribly 'plain' - does any one else feel like this? I also forgot my facial tanners so I am super pale blaahh. But here is the fotd anyway.

Face:
MAC FIX primer
Bobbi Brown 'skin' foundation beige
ELF conceal and highlight concealer - light
MAC MSF Medium
Benefit Hula (all over)
Beauty UK no.6 blusher (apples)
Elf bronzer-warm (cheekbones and temple)
MAC Blot powder medium
Lips:
Body shop brazil nut lip balm (love love love this taste/smell/feel!)
i used sunbeds earlier this year and stopped because i finished sixth form, and it was expensive! i think it isn't healthy for you but it is partly scare mongering also, the media love to harp on about anything that may give you cancer, including their latest finding, ham sandwiches. i actually felt alot happier and relaxed when i'd been on the sunbeds, one of the reasons i liked it, as well as the tan factor. although i don't think i will be going back on them when i'm back at sixth form.
ReplyDeleteI never used sunbeds, and I only use self tanners in the summer.
ReplyDeleteYou have to embrace your skin, no matter the color! I'm really pale too, and I love it!
I think you look beautiful with this natural look (:
I'm completely anti-sunbeds as I am cigarettes, anything that can increase your risk of cancer isn't worth doing in my opinion. Not only that but it causes premature ageing and why not fake it?! I can't believe they charged £95 for a mole checkup! At the doctors they do it for free, my brother went recently and they checked him over thoroughly so I'm thinking of doing the same because I have a moley back! xxx
ReplyDelete@Army Antoinette - AH i'm kind of gutted I just found out that doctors do it for free !? But is that looking at a specific mole or aalll of them? Also i was in my underwear and i had a really nice nurse would not want to do that in front of my male doctor!
ReplyDelete@Marissa- thanks so much
@hannah - I reckon the cancer side IS exageratted for headlines and stuff but the sun damage on my chest and legs is there in front of me and i'm not even a sun or sunbed worshipper :/ scary!xx
enter me!
ReplyDelete@Juliette i will make a new post for the competition but i will take note of your entry now!xxx
ReplyDeleteI read an article about tanning and how dangerous it is a few weeks ago and I'm mad at myself for ever going now! :( way too big of a risk to take for something so silly. There's a foundation out there now called "pale by choice" and they're spreading the word about the tanning bed risks. Hope it raises some awareness!

I used to use sunbeds quite regularly but I haven't been on in a while. The older I get the more aware I am of getting wrinkles and of course I worry about getting skin cancer too.
ReplyDeleteI do love to sunbathe in the sun though. I don't think I would ever stop doing that. But I constantly reapply factor 15 so fingers crossed I'm being sensible enough! x
You look absolutely gorgeous in your FOTD I love how blonde your hair is..I'm thinking about getting mine highlighted soon..i can't believe you can get melanoma on your fingernails?? whaaa? The only thing I have to say about the freckle thing though is that..my dad worked in the sun his whole life and didn't have one freckle, but my mom loved to sunbathe and had lots...can't certain people just be naturally susceptible to getting freckles? p.s. my doctor didn't do it for free..I think that's only if you have good health insurance..It cost me $90 and she didn't even tell me if would cost money..still mad about that lol
ReplyDeleteReally interesting post! Good to read about your experience and what they do in them clinics. I haven't ever used a sunbed as I'd get really claustrophobic but the dangers really put me off. x
ReplyDelete@aleksis - ah that's so unfair they didn't tell you it would cost money!? And thanks very much i feel I look really plain without any make-up on (well, i have some on) ! Oh post photos if you get it highlighted! Yup you can get it fingernails and toenails and it looks like a blood blister but grows down into your finger/toe - nice. Yes I think the difference is that I was born with freckles and in the sun those freckles are more pronounced but it's loads of little 'new' freckles that appear that are a sign of sun damage I think and may eventually lead to age spots. Hopefully not now only if i continued to abuse the sun!xx
ReplyDelete@Daisy- thanks glad it was informative ! I use veritcal sunbeds (used) as i found them less claustrophobic and i always kept my hand on the door so I could push it open at all times!xx
enteer me please
