Product Rave: TRESemmé Split Mend Intense Recovery Masque

'Use a couple of times a week to provide an intense recovery to parched, dried out ends & lengths. This nourishing rinse out masque eliminates up to 80% of split ends in just three uses. The perfect intense treatment to restore overall hair health and condition.'

I was sent this mask (*) a few weeks ago but really wanted to try it out before reviewing it. I don't see much point in 'reviews' which basically consist of 'I got sent this! Haven't used it yet...don't know if it's any good..but look!'

Although I am not convinced that this technically 'eliminates' split ends I can safely say that it really does transform the look of 'parched, dried out ends and lengths' and your hair does look 'smooth and nourished'.

This mask has become a HG product for me as it's such a divine smelling, thick, creamy consistency that leaves your hair feeling and looking SO smooth and looking shiny -  and that's a huge challenge for any hair product on my over bleached chemically processed straw hair!

It's so reasonably priced as well (under five pounds) and works just as well, if not better actally, than other high end treatments I have used (such as the Shea Butter mask from Frédéric Fekkai - over £20!).

Overall I give this a 4/5 as it's incredible as a moisturising, conditioning treatment and my split ends definitely look improved after using it and it smells gorgeous.

I recommend leaving it on overnight as I have had the best results using it that way.

What are some other amazing hair masks you'd recommend ? I'm always on the hunt as my hair is just so ridiculously damaged.

Do you use 'drugstore' products on your hair or only high end?

Have you tried this or any of the 'Split Remedy' range?

  3. Oh I love this. I've used it alongside the shampoo and the serum since September and I haven't had my hair trimmed since. My split ends have barely got any worse in that time, so although it doesn't totally get rid of them, I agree they do a great job.

    1. Yeah i'd be really interested to see how it works right after you have a hair cut, whether it stops the hair from becoming split as right now my hairs in shitty condition and I use this to try and make it look a bit better. Need a hair cut but too scared they'll cut loads off :( xx

  4. I'm a fellow hair bleacher too! (as well as also being called Jenifer - but with one 'n'!)

I will have to try this as I currently shell out 99p per wash for the Nice n Easy conditioner tubes & its costing me a small fortune. Thanks for the recommendation!

  6. I bought the Frederic Fekkai Protein RX Mask last year and it's pretty amazing! I only use it about once a month, which is a good job since it costs £24 for 200ml!

    1. I do like fekkai products but i feel like you can't use them often (like you say only once a month) and you can't go mad slathering them on, with this one i can go to town whacking it on every other night !xx

  8. Not tried this one yet, heard good things about it though.
I tend to use Lee Stafford treatments quite a bit, also make my own to get the nutrients I need.

    1. What do you use in your own? I've used eggs and olive oil before, i tried using banana but it was bloody awful trying to get it out of my hair so I wont be doing that again! I did use the lee stafford growth mask (can't remember the exact name) but not really sure how much of a difference it made! xx
